Gerhard needs a Bone Marrow Transplant

Brave little Gerhard is fighting cancer for the second time in his brief life. After being diagnosed with Lymph Gland Cancer at the age of 9 months and undergoing surgery and chemotherapy he started to recover, then he was diagnosed with Leukemia, a possible side effect from the intense chemotherapy. His only chance of survival is a Bone Marrow Transplant.

This website has ben set up to help raise funds for the operation, Gerhards parents have already raised R300,000 but this falls far short of the R520,000 needed for the operation.

WIth your help this little boy will be able to run and play in the sun like any other child of his age. This is an appeal to any individual or organisation to please make a donation, no matter how small, to help this brave little boy lead a normal life.

Professor David Stones from the Department of Pediatrics and Childcare at the University of the Free State says that without this operation Gerhard's chances are grim.
